Get ready for the new year with a new theme, new friends, and new adventures!

If you want to walk on water you’ve got to get out of the boat.  Staying in the boat sounds more comfortable, certainly safer, and maybe even easier.  But in today’s world serving God and trying to be obedient to Christ means you will have to face some storms.  Remember the Disciples were in a storm, trying to obey Christ when Jesus came walking toward them on the water.  They did not recognize Him and thought He was a ghost.  Jesus often comes when least expected, in the middle of a storm.  But it took eyes of faith to recognize Him and Peter Stepped Out of the boat.  Peter had enough faith to believe that he too could share the adventure.  We all know there is more to life than sitting in the boat.  Peter got out of the boat but then his focus shifted from Jesus to storm.  We are the same.  We start something filled with hope –then reality sets in- setbacks-opposition-obstacles.  We see the wind.  But we have the choice to follow Jesus—the choice to grow—the choice to make the right choices.  Water walking brings a deeper relationship with God.  Jesus is still looking for people who will get out of the boat.  It is the only way to real growth.  It is part of discovering and obeying your calling.  There are many good reasons to get out of the boat.  But there is one that stands above them all… the water is where Jesus is.   We will Step Out of the boat this year at SFUMC Youth.  Come and be part of a group that will face the storm together.  When was the last time you got out of the boat?  See you at SFUMY.

Weekly Schedule: While our calendar lists the big events of the year, the heart and soul of SFUMY is our weekly gatherings.  Whether you like the big group setting of Sunday nights or discussion groups like Bible study, there’s a place for you! Here’s what we do every week:

Saint Francis United Methodist Youth (SFUMY) Sunday Nights: they're are over for the summer. Have a good summer or track out.

PrayerWorks and Bible Study: it meets every Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm gathering in the Sanctuary or Gathering Space.  We sing, pray, laugh and seek God together.

Sunday School: every Sunday from 9:45-10:45 am in Room 322,  6-12 graders hang out, share the occasional snack, and dig into God's word. Be transformed as you are inspired and challenged to know and experience God through Jesus Christ.
