During our 2010 Christmas Cantata on December 12 the Music Ministry honored our Director, Jim White, for his service and dedication to our church.  The Christmas Cantata was Jim's 10th Christmas program here at Saint Francis and we chose that occasion to surprise Jim with a choral anthem commissioned in his honor.  The anthem is by Alice Parker, a preeminent American composer and arranger of choral music and one of Jim's favorites.  The title of the anthem is Speak Peace and it is based on Psalm 85.  We also  prepared a video tribute to Jim that played in the Sanctuary and Gathering Space after the service, a scrapbook of the major musical events during his tenure here, and a reception in his honor following the 11:00 am service.
