Our Adult Sunday School classes meet at 9:45 a.m. These classes offer a wide variety of focus areas and formats for adults of all ages. Women's Bible Study | Abundant Life | Bible Link | Faith Journey 20's & 30's Class | Parent Connection | Going Deeper | FISH | Koinonia
Location: Room 319 (Sanctuary Building) This class is for women and recently studied the Following God series, Women of the Bible.
Location: Multipurpose Room (Administrative Building) This class is a lively discussion group facilitated by class members. The class selects a book or topic dealing with traditional and contemporary religious issues. Newcomers are always welcome. The group has periodic social activities and participates in church activities like Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Location: Room 317 (Lower Level of the Sanctuary Building) Using Keeping Holy Times, this class offers a weekly study of the lectionary Scriptures - Old Testament, Psalm, Epistle, Gospel, and others. This class is participatory style.
Location: Room 325 (Lower Level of the Sanctuary Building) This class is designed for question and answer and group discussion. It recently studied the book United Methodist Questions, United Methodist Answers: Exploring Christian Faith by Rev. Belton Joyner. The book addresses topics: God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Humanity, Salvation, Church, Worship and sacraments, Bible, Theology, Christian Life, Reign of God, and History and Heritage.
Location: Mobile Unit #12 (Located at the far left side of the church property) Come join the 20's/30's Sunday School class as we tackle The Gospel According to the Simpson's. The class welcomes you to learn more about the group and some of its social gatherings.
Location: Mobile Unit #13 (The far left side of the church property) This class helps parents connect socially and spiritually. A recent study included the book Faith Journey through the Fantasy Lands by Russell Dalton. The book tackles some of the spiritual themes found in Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Harry Potter. The class is facilitated by several of the different class members.
Location: Room 321 (Prayer Chapel - Lower Level of the Sanctuary Building) This is a very proactive group in the area of advocacy and social justice issues. They seek ways to educate the congregation on issues related to Christian values in politics, economics, consumerism, and other areas, while encouraging others and themselves to live out their faith. Class members volunteer to facilitate topics and the class is full of lively discussion. The group is looking for involvement as they discern their next topic of discussion.
Location: Room 307 (Lower Level of the Sanctuary Building) The class has done a variety of studies over the last year, both Bible and book. They gather quarterly to fellowship outside of class over delicious meals and warmly receive new members. This class focused on modern day topics that are democratically selected. The class is currently looking at discussing faith beliefs of presidential candidates. All are invited as the group looks to making it's final decision.
Location: Room 309 (Lower Level of the Sanctuary Building) The Koinonia Class is a small group that focuses on book discussion. Fully living out its group name, Koinonia, the group gathers for Christian fellowship as it prays and studies together. Adult Education is always looking for ideas for classes and for individuals interested in helping lead a class.
