| Sunday Morning Worship |
|
We gather for worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. As has been our founding tradition, we continue to offer Holy Communion every week. The first and third Sundays of each month feature the Eucharist at 8:30 a.m., and the second and fourth Sundays we celebrate Communion at 11:00 a.m. On the quarterly fifth Sundays, Communion is provided at both services.
The Scripture readings and lessons at our Sunday morning worship services are usually based around the Revised Common Lectionary. The Lectionary, developed and used by major Christian denominations throughout the world, forms a three-year cycle of Bible readings, centered around the Christian calendar. A regular weekly attendee at a church which uses the Lectionary, hears every major Bible story and theme in the course of the three-year cycle. Even attending church on just one Sunday of the year puts you in a fellowship of believers world-wide, all of whom are hearing the same readings from the Word. Saint Francis holds a special Prayer and Healing Service with anointing oil at 9:45 am on the third Sunday of each month. The service, designed to last thirty minutes, is held at the back of sanctuary in sections C & D. Bring your special needs and concerns to this special service.
