Chapter 2 of the Gospel  of Mark tells the story of a paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus. When Jesus saw the man, he looked at him and said "Child, your sins are forgiven."  But Jesus did not stop there. IN the midst of doubters, Jesus said to the paralyzed man "Rise, pick up your mat, and go home."

Christ's saving work in our lives involves not only a forgiveness of our sins but also a healing of our hurts. Some hurts are physical. Some are emotional. Some defy easy description. Regardless, Christ longs for us to be made whole.

Healing comes in many forms. Jesus performed miracles, but he also valued the patient attention a  Good Samaritan.  The Health and Wholeness Ministry of Saint Francis exists to promote holistic healing by balancing the mind, body, spirit, and emotions for integrative health and well-being. Through all our ministries we echo Christ's concern for the whole person, and we point toward the day when pain shall be no more and we live with Christ in life everlasting.

All are welcome to participate in this life-giving ministry. For more information, contact The Rev. Michael Precht, 919-36211666, Ext. 16.
