1st Grade Worship Education |
|
First-graders attend Worship Education as an extension of both our 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. These children leave after the "Time with Young Disciples" and study all aspects of our service, the sanctuary, Christian seasons and symbols, Communion, and Baptism. They learn both about worship and to worship. Worship Education runs from the beginning of the school year (traditional calendar), finishing in time for the children to celebrate Easter in church with their families.

Third Grade Bible Presentation
One Sunday each fall, during the 11:00 a.m. worship, third graders are presented an engraved Bible as a gift from the church. If you are the parent of a Third Grader you are invited to let us know that your child would like a bible. This is an important milestone in the faith development of our children. A special class is also offered for all Third Graders about the history, the different sections, and using their bibles by our own John Rushing. John has been teaching the class for years, and it runs until the end of the month of December. Information about this event is posted in the August newsletter, or you can contact Rev. Nancy Johnston Varden for details.
